Better Business Bureau serving Northwest + Pacific is proud to announce Friends of the Children – Portland as the 2018 Torch Award Charity of the Year. Friends of the Children – Portland earned the prestigious award for not only meeting BBB’s Standards for Charity Accountability, but also for its dedication in honoring employees, customers and the community.
“We are day in and day out with the youth in our community who need us the most. It is hard work, it is rewarding, and it is sometimes thankless,” says Justine Reimnitz, Marketing & Online Fundraising Strategist of Friends of the Children–Portland.
“The Torch Awards embodies the ideals of trust, integrity and ethics,” says President and CEO Tyler Andrew. “These are the businesses and charities that make our communities such great places to live.”
This year more than 100 charities were nominated for the award across the Northwest and Pacific. The Torch Award recipients are selected by volunteer judges from third-party community organizations.
“This award is for all our ‘Friends’ that are making a huge difference in the community,” says Reimnitz.
